Perry Green

Went to Perry Green at the weekend, to see Hoglands, the former home of Henry Moore. Ive been a fan of Moore ever since my sculpture classes back in the late 90's, and always wanted to see more of his work, first hand. I wasnt dissapointed :o)

Posters?

A close friend of mine has suggested that i make some of my work into posters. Im a bit wary of that, have a big hang up with things being original (because i like to buy original stuff) and i worry about how you stop other people reproducing your work :o(

Anyway, im gunna give it a go.....starting with this one. If it looks good blown up i might take it to the shop in Bluewater where they put photo's onto canvas for you.......

I submitted 3 collages (framed) to Nucleus in Chatham. Its a shop, that showcases art from local artists. One of the originalpeices i submitted has since sold, so i needed to replace it with another one. Unfortunately, i bought the wrong bloody sized frame, so this one is slightly bigger than the others :o( Will make sure i dont make that mistake next time.....if there is a next time ;o)

Love, the one at the bottom, was sold to a colleague at work, for her daughters first wedding anniversary. I hope she liked it :o)

Wow....im impressed with myself! I was giving myself 2weeks and it took less than a week! Im not 100% happy with it, and im gunna add stuff as i come across it. I like the idea of adding real rose heads, so thats something that will be ongoing. The quote is Shakespeare, and says "I love thee, i love but thee with a love that shall not die, Till the sun grows cold, and the stars grow old." Im such a romantic! ;o)

A colleague/friend at work saw this in a shop window on Friday and bought it for me :o) Its my new project...... Now i need to think about what to do with it! In its current state its way too girlie for my liking lol. Along with the present came a lecture (in a nice way lol), about concentrating on one thing and giving myself a timelimit to get it done, rather than procrastinating, and never finishing anything. Sooooo, im giving myself 2 weeks to transform this into something i actually want to hang on my wall. Wish me luck ;o)

I've been going through a rough time recently and i find my moods affect what im working on. I think sometimes, love can be consuming.....there always seems to be an A and a B person in a relationship, it never seems equal. Im a huge romantic by nature, but, ive been told i live in a fantasyland.....so i guess i better get real. I spose in a way, this collage was done with an element of sarcasm......

Welcome to my Blog.....Day 1 of The View Inside *snigger*

Let me tell you a little about myself. Back in 2007 i worked my way through "The Artists Way" by Julia Cameron, and it made me realise that i can be creative! I hadn't done anything "arty" since being at school, but, soon to be approaching the big 4 0, i needed a challenge.

Since then, I've been.....dabbling. Trying to find that something that i enjoy doing and can hopefully do well. So i think I've found it, what i enjoy doing...I'm just not too sure I'm doing it well....yet ;o)

So this Blog is for my "collages", yep, that's what i do......Collages :o) A colleague at work recently described my work as poetry as well, and that is something I'd like to expand on. I know I'm not gunna set the world on fire, but, wouldn't it be great to cause a spark ;o)
